The entire WAOW team wishes you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2026!

In this December newsletter, we introduce you to Wulan, our Indonesian fairy godmother. Then we take you to the WAOW 2 construction site during our visit in October. And finally, a big announcement for the new year: Being part of WAOW 2 is possible! On January 8, 2026, we are launching our participatory pre-sales at the Paris Dive Show! Come and see us!

Happy reading!

Wulan Sane

Having met her at their dive center in Bali in 2007, Michel was immediately won over by Wulan’s cheerfulness, efficiency, and natural ease with people. He recruited her on the spot and soon discovered an exceptional manager: courageous, meticulous, a sharp negotiator, and a remarkably fast learner. Honest and uncompromising, she tolerates no discrepancy. At the office, she oversees administration and human resources with an iron fist in a velvet glove.

Beyond her administrative role, her radiant smile and many talents at times reveal her as a yoga instructor, a tour guide, or an effortless entertainer. Deeply rooted in Balinese Hindu traditional life, Wulan also led the ceremonies on board, and also the one honoring the Sea Gods after the WAOW fire, a powerful and emotional moment for all of us.

Wulan was truly the guardian angel of WAOW, and we couldn’t be happier to welcome her back for the WAOW 2 adventure.

Shipyard visit

Time flies. Just one month after the keel-laying ceremony, WAOW 2 has already taken shape astonishingly fast. Her hull now rises proudly from the building site, solid enough for us to walk on, and for the first time she truly looks and feels like a boat.

In just a few weeks she has become a living structure of wood and craftsmanship.

Following the keel; the stem, sternpost, and ribs are now being installed.

Discover here a few shots of these foundational steps—a promise of the magnificent vessel she will soon become.

Rendez-vous in Paris!

Camille, Julia, Reto and Lorine invite you to join them at the Paris International Dive Show from January 8th to 11th, 2026 at booth H 04C to talk about WAOW 2 and the participatory pre-sales for those who want to get involved in the project right now.

And of course, to share memories and anecdotes. Some of which can be found in the book “La Légende du WAOW,” available at the booth!
